“Every citizen of Quang Binh needs to be educated about AI to become a tourism ambassador for the province,” said Mr. Tran Thang, Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee, expressing his agreement with the proposal made by the ABAII Academy’s leadership during the digital transformation meeting on October 9, 2024.
On October 9, 2024, the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee held the Q3/2024 meeting to evaluate the results of the Digital Transformation initiative and Project 06 for the first nine months of 2024, with the participation of 200 delegates, including leaders from various levels of government and the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation (ABAII).
The program was chaired by Mr. Tran Thang, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Digital Transformation Steering Committee of Quang Binh Province, and Leader of the Task Force for implementing Project 06 in the province. Other leaders and entities in attendance included Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Colonel Nguyen Huu Hop, Director of the Provincial Police; leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee, the Department of Information and Communications, as well as representatives from various departments, agencies, and technology enterprises in the province.
As key experts at the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Long (Director of Digital Transformation at the ABAII Academy) and Mr. Nguyen Van Tiep (Deputy Director of Training at the ABAII Academy) delivered a presentation on the development progress and notable milestones in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and providing specific recommendations for applying AI to promote the digital economy in Quang Binh Province.
“AI has the potential to create breakthroughs in enhancing productivity, optimizing resources, and improving management efficiency in key sectors of Quang Binh Province, particularly in high-tech agriculture, public administration, experiential tourism, education and training, and renewable energy,” the ABAII Academy representative emphasized.
Specifically, in high-tech agriculture, AI assists in analyzing crop data, forecasting the weather, predicting and preventing crop diseases, and automating production processes to increase productivity through optimized information management. In public administration, AI is an effective tool to optimize efficiency by analyzing data and facilitating problem-solving for service users through chatbots.
Especially in Quang Binh’s key economic sector of tourism, the ABAII Academy representative emphasized the practical benefits of applying AI, such as analyzing tourist behavior data, automating tourism services, implementing effective tourism marketing, optimizing communication, and automating services like booking, accommodation management, and automated tour guiding.
In response to the ABAII Academy’s insights, Mr. Tran Thang, Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee, agreed with the idea that “every citizen of Quang Binh should be educated in AI to become a tourism ambassador for the province” and urged Quang Binh’s civil servants to have a serious learning mindset and apply AI in their work to enhance efficiency and quality.
Assessing the current situation and proposing solutions for Quang Binh’s digital transformation efforts, ABAII Academy experts pointed out that Quang Binh is facing a shortage of high-tech human resources, particularly Blockchain and AI. Additionally, the digital infrastructure is underdeveloped, and significant investment costs necessitate collaboration between the government and businesses.
To address these issues, Quang Binh needs to focus on raising awareness of AI through workshops and practical training programs for government officials and civil servants, helping them understand the technology and its application to their daily work. At the same time, educational materials and promotional videos should be developed to educate the public on the benefits of AI and how to access administrative services through the technology.
“AI is not the only or all-powerful tool to solve every problem; leaders need to set realistic expectations regarding AI’s capabilities to ensure its effective and practical application,” Mr. Nguyen Duc Long emphasized.
Following the meeting on October 9, ABAII Academy experts will continue to provide training on effective AI usage and its application in administrative work for the leadership, specialists, civil servants, and administrative staff across various departments and agencies in Quang Binh Province.
This activity is part of the Blockchain AI event series promoting digital transformation in localities that the ABAII Academy is actively implementing, aiming to popularize Blockchain and AI nationwide. On October 1, 2024, the ABAII Academy organized a workshop and training session on “AI Applications in Administrative Work” in Kon Tum Province, with nearly 200 leaders and officials from the province in attendance.
