Establishment of the Vietnam Blockchain Training and Startup Center

On June 5, during the 5th Workshop on Establishing the VA/VASP Regulatory Framework, the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) and its affiliate, the Academy of Blockchain & Artificial Intelligence Innovation (ABAII), officially launched the Vietnam Blockchain Training and Startup Center (BST) to the blockchain community and the broader public.

According to a report by Chainalysis, Vietnam currently leads the world in blockchain technology adoption, with nearly 20 million users holding digital assets. Vietnamese businesses, especially startups in this field, consistently rank among the top 10 globally in various aspects, including integration readiness and workforce quality. In 2023, investments in Vietnamese tech startups reached $1.4 billion.

Despite the booming wave of blockchain startups, the VA/VASP regulatory framework remains underdeveloped, leaving many individuals, investors, and entrepreneurs struggling with compliance, operational processes, fundraising, brand and community management, marketing, and other issues.

In this context, the Vietnam Blockchain Training and Startup Center was established, focusing on specialized blockchain training, and supporting individuals and businesses in accessing, researching, and applying blockchain technology. The center is particularly dedicated to assisting startups in building operational plans, project management, marketing, and expanding successful business models globally.

Commenting on the center’s establishment, Tran Duy Cuong, Director of the Vietnam Blockchain Training and Startup Center, shared: “We recognize that the biggest challenge most blockchain startups face is a lack of clear direction and experience in operations and accessing capital from international funds. With eight years of experience in blockchain, the BST Center believes it can help blockchain and technology startups develop a structured and sustainable approach in both the Vietnamese and global markets.”

Expanding on the center’s goals, Mr. Cuong emphasized that in its first three years, from 2024 to 2026, the BST Center will conduct training programs, including 100 workshops and blockchain training sessions for students and startups, aiming for at least 5,000 participants. The center will work alongside ABAII Academy and VBA to disseminate blockchain knowledge to the community, helping them understand and comply with current laws, mechanisms, policies, and regulations.

BST also aims to bridge 100,000 blockchain professionals in Vietnam with international organizations and communities, supporting the development of 100 reputable blockchain startup projects, with at least 20 projects receiving investment from domestic and international funds within the first year.

To achieve these objectives, the BST Center will focus on building a reputable team of blockchain consultants and instructors, implementing training programs, providing development consultancy for projects, creating effective communication strategies, and fostering sustainable relationships between investors, funds, and enterprises. The center will also organize workshops, short courses, and training programs for students, and startups, and provide resources to meet the needs of blockchain development in enterprises and state-owned companies adopting technology and digital transformation in Vietnam, contributing positively to the country’s socio-economic growth efforts.
