According to Microsoft and LinkedIn’s 2024 Employment Trends Report, two-thirds of surveyed businesses indicated they would not hire individuals lacking proficiency in AI skills for optimizing work and efficiency.
On November 7, 2024, the 16th ABAII Unitour program was held at Ton Duc Thang University by the Academy of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence Innovation (ABAII), a member of the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA), for over 500 students, with the theme “Blockchain and AI Applications: Key to Success in the Digital Era.”
Tang Khac Quy, Director of the Corporate Cooperation Center at Ton Duc Thang University, emphasized that Blockchain and AI not only shape the future of technological fields but also offer students the opportunity to lead global technology trends. “Blockchain and AI could become the most powerful tools, creating significant differentiation and opening entirely new pathways for students to enter the labor market proactively and with high competitiveness both domestically and internationally,” Quy remarked.
Highlighting the potential of the Blockchain market, Tran Huyen Dinh, Chairman of the Fintech Application Committee of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, shared that Vietnam currently ranks fourth globally with over 20 million people owning digital assets, and fifth in the world in the Digital Asset Adoption Index. According to Standard Chartered’s forecast, the global digital asset market is expected to exceed $30 trillion by 2034, accounting for around 16% of total commercial financial assets.
According to Dinh, the rapid market growth has led to salaries in the Blockchain and AI sectors surpassing comparable roles in other fields by 3-5 times on average. “There are four main factors contributing to the significant difference in salaries in the Blockchain and AI industries: high entry barriers, lower labor supply relative to demand, high project revenue and profitability, and continuously rising investment in these two technologies,” Dinh explained, emphasizing that this is an unprecedented opportunity for young workers to enter these innovative and potential fields.
Following the National Blockchain Strategy recently issued by the Prime Minister on October 22, 2024, Vietnam aims to be a regional leader and have an international position in the blockchain sector by 2030. “The strategy reflects the government’s interest in the Blockchain industry and confirms the strong growth potential of this new technology,” Tran Huyen Dinh emphasized.
For the AI sector, Dao Trung Thanh, Deputy Director of ABAII Academy, affirmed that generative AI is revolutionizing many fields, boosting productivity, and breaking career barriers for millions. “66% of companies surveyed by Microsoft and LinkedIn stated they would not hire employees lacking AI skills. Therefore, AI is an opportunity and a requirement for young workers in today’s digital era.”
To keep up with trends and career opportunities in Blockchain and AI, Nguyen Duc Long, Digital Transformation Director of ABAII, encouraged students to study proactively anytime, anywhere to develop knowledge and skills.
Long also highlighted the advantages of MasterTeck – the first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform in line with the National Blockchain Strategy, recently launched by the Prime Minister. Developed by ABAII Academy, MasterTeck offers over 300 courses on blockchain and AI with practical applications in 24 high-demand careers today, such as AI engineers, and blockchain developers.
Learners also have the opportunity to study in-depth courses on Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Ethical Hacking, etc., and earn certifications from prestigious international organizations such as CompTIA, EC-Council, PECB, and ABAII, available in both traditional printed and NFT formats, directly connected to LinkedIn profiles for enhanced global connectivity, Long shared.
ABAII Unitour 16 at Ton Duc Thang University also featured experts such as Master Duong Huu Phuc (representing Ton Duc Thang University), Trung Banh (Co-Founder of HoldStation Vietnam), and Hoang Minh Thien (Deputy Director of the Vietnam Blockchain Training and Startup Center). The speakers shared insights on applying Blockchain and AI in the workplace, encouraging students to learn and research actively to seize opportunities early. “If you miss or delay by 3-5 years when the labor supply saturates, it will be difficult to find similar opportunities,” Thien remarked.

ABAII Unitour is an initiative by the Academy of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence Innovation (ABAII), a member of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, aimed at bringing Blockchain and AI knowledge to students nationwide. By 2025, the program is expected to organize 30 events, reaching at least 100,000 students and opening new career opportunities in the digital era for Vietnam’s young workforce.
