“Blockchain and AI are the keys to global opportunities, opening doors to international careers amid the booming Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation,” emphasized lawyer Nguyễn Trần Minh Quân, a legal expert at the Vietnam Blockchain Association.
On October 15, 2024, at the University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation (ABAII), in collaboration with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA), organized a seminar titled “Blockchain and AI: Career Paths in the Digitalization Era.” The event attracted over 500 students and numerous leading industry experts, offering a comprehensive and in-depth perspective on groundbreaking technologies. It also provided insights into career opportunities and suggested solutions for future professional challenges.
In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Anh Phong, Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking at the University of Economics and Law, emphasized that Blockchain and AI are not merely scientific and technological advancements; they play a crucial role in reshaping the landscape of the digital economy.
“These technologies have become the primary drivers across various sectors, from finance and education to public services. Mastering and effectively applying Blockchain and AI will be the key for students to become future leaders in the technological revolution,” shared Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Anh Phong.
Mr. Đào Trung Thành, Deputy Director of the ABAII Institute, stated that, according to a survey by the American Bar Association, 55% of law schools in the United States have integrated AI, 83% offer courses on AI, and 93% of law schools are considering revising their curricula to incorporate and apply AI.
Sharing more about the practical benefits AI brings to businesses, particularly in optimizing processes and increasing profitability, Mr. Đào Trung Thành noted that 74% of companies using generative AI achieved a return on investment within the first year, and 86% reported revenue growth compared to pre-AI adoption. Fields like customer service and product development have seen positive results from AI applications, helping optimize processes and drive sustainable financial growth.
To stay ahead of these trends, Mr. Thành encouraged students to proactively learn about AI and Blockchain through various means, such as short courses or online training programs. In particular, to support students’ learning journey at the University of Economics and Law, Mr. Đào Trung Thành, on behalf of the ABAII Institute, awarded 30 scholarships worth 30 million VND, consisting of 30 MasterTeck online learning accounts.
MasterTeck is Vietnam’s leading online learning platform for Blockchain and AI, offering over 300 specialized courses focusing on 24 high-demand, high-income career fields, with international certifications from CompTIA, EC-Council, PECB, and NFT certificates from the ABAII Institute. Learners can receive certificates in Traditional and NFT formats, enhancing transparency, security, and direct integration with LinkedIn for convenient international professional networking.
From the perspective of career opportunities for students at the University of Economics and Law, Mr. Nguyễn Trần Minh Quân, a legal expert at the Vietnam Blockchain Association and CEO of Krysos Trust, emphasized that the deep integration of Blockchain and AI into economic sectors will create a significant demand for skilled professionals with specialized knowledge and legal expertise in both domestic and international companies.
According to Mr. Quân, with a foundation in economics and law, young people who further develop knowledge and skills in Blockchain and AI will have more career options, such as new product development, legal consulting, and advising on AI and Blockchain applications. “In other words, Blockchain and AI are international tickets, opening up global career opportunities for students and young professionals,” he emphasized.
Notably, to help students proactively prepare for the “technology race” and contribute to national economic growth, the experts shared various perspectives, insights, and valuable advice. This included specialized knowledge in Blockchain, AI, and legal issues within Vietnam and international standards.
According to Mr. Bành Trí Trung, co-founder of HoldStation, Blockchain and AI are transformative factors reshaping the financial landscape. A report from Boston Consulting Group projects that the total market value of real-world assets (RWA) tokenized on Blockchain platforms will reach $16 trillion, accounting for 10% of global GDP by 2030.
In agreement, experts from the ABAII Institute, including Mr. Nguyễn Đức Long (Director of Digital Transformation at ABAII), Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tiệp (Deputy Director of Training at ABAII), and Mr. Hoàng Minh Thiện (Deputy Director of the Training and Blockchain Entrepreneurship Center; Co-Founder of the K300 Startup Fund), emphasized that students should actively participate in courses and obtain international certifications in Blockchain and AI to enhance their knowledge. Additionally, they encouraged students to develop skills and gain practical experience through hackathons, ideathons, projects, research, and Blockchain and AI application communities.
In particular, given that the regulatory framework for Blockchain and AI in Vietnam is not yet fully established, students and young professionals need to proactively explore legal issues and adhere to international regulations. This readiness will prepare them for economic integration and help position Vietnam as an attractive destination in the global technology market.
The seminar “Blockchain and AI: Career Paths in the Digitalization Era” at the University of Economics and Law marked the 13th in the ABAII Unitour series, initiated by the ABAII Institute of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence and the Vietnam Blockchain Association in March 2024.
