Blockchain and AI Applications Optimize Management and Job Opportunities in Engineering

“40% of workers will need to be retrained with new skills by 2025 to adapt to the advancements in AI and automation,” emphasized Mr. Đào Trung Thành, Vice Director of the ABAII Academy.

On December 16, 2024, the 19th ABAII Unitour, themed “Enhancing Management Efficiency and Job Opportunities through Blockchain and AI in the Engineering Sector,” took place at the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City. The event, organized by the Academy of Blockchain Technology and AI Innovation (ABAII), in collaboration with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA), attracted over 200 students and leading technology experts. The seminar not only provided in-depth insights into the potential of Blockchain and AI but also opened real job opportunities for engineering students in the digital era.

Dr. Quan Quốc Đống, from the Department of Science and Technology at the University of Science, emphasized the practical applications of Blockchain and AI in optimizing management processes and increasing job opportunities in the engineering sector.

During the program, Mr. Lê Anh Quốc, Blockchain Technology Expert at VBA and Chief Operating Officer of AlphaTrue JSC, discussed the potential of Blockchain, especially in the application of carbon credit management. This is a crucial solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to sustainable development. According to Bloomberg, the global carbon credit market is projected to reach $800 billion by 2050. Blockchain optimizes carbon credit transactions through transparency, traceability, and smart contracts, thereby improving liquidity in this market.

Regarding the Blockchain market in Vietnam, Mr. Quốc stated: “Blockchain is developing rapidly, with investment flows into Vietnam reaching $105 billion during 2023-2024, yielding nearly $1.2 billion in profits and attracting over 17 million crypto asset holders. These figures demonstrate the tremendous potential of Blockchain technology in the digital economy.”

Continuing the program, Mr. Đào Trung Thành, Vice Director and Chairman of the Faculty Council at ABAII Academy shared insights on the role of Generative AI in shaping the technical labor market. Citing data from the World Economic Forum, he stated: “40% of workers will need to be reskilled by 2025 to adapt to advancements in AI and automation.”

AI not only creates new job opportunities but also offers highly attractive incomes. Specifically, the current average salary for AI engineers is $200,000 per year, 2.3 times higher than that of regular software engineers. For top experts, earnings can range between $500,000 and $800,000 annually, while exceptional AI scientists at OpenAI can earn up to $10 million per year. These figures illustrate that AI is not merely a trend but poses an urgent demand for high-quality human resources in the digital age.
