May 17, 2023 marks the one-year anniversary of the Vietnam Blockchain Association. After 1 year of establishment and development, Vietnam Blockchain Association has gradually affirmed its position as a connecting organization sharing values through a series of community events and domestic and international cooperation, besides promoting standards-setting and data security.
On the afternoon of May 17, the Association celebrated this important milestone at Chloe Gallery, Ho Chi Minh City, with the presence of representatives of ministries, departments, members of the Association’s leadership, press agencies and media.
The event welcomed 300 VIP guests who are Senior Government Officials, Ministries, BODs of companies, Investment Funds, Community KOLs, Blockchain Application Enterprises. In which, senior leaders from the central government will attend and speak, including: Mr. Tran Van Tung – Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, Leader of the Party Central Committee Office, representative of the Government Cipher Committee.
After a year of operation, up to now, Vietnam Blockchain Association has had 50,000 community members, more than 80 partners, more than 50 cooperation agreements, more than 100 events participating as organizers, companions, support communication… The first year journey of the Association is still in the 6 goals set initially: Membership development, Standards development, Cooperation to promote application, Knowledge dissemination, Policy consultation and International Cooperation; Since then, the Association has implemented practical activities, actively participated in contributing ideas to the development of legal policies, and dialogues with the Departments, Ministries and Sectors, in order to remove obstacles for enterprises applying blockchain.

Attending the one-year anniversary of the Association, Professor – Doctor of Science Hoang Van Hue, Former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Vietnam Blockchain Association shared: “After one year of success, Since its founding, the Vietnam Blockchain Association has received a lot of support and determination to demonstrate the potential when applying Blockchain technology to economic sectors. At the one-year anniversary program, the Vietnam Blockchain Association will announce actions on the way to inherit and promote the achievements of the past year. In particular, announcing the program on the portal to recognize active projects, development-oriented programs and investment connection. I would like to represent the Executive Committee and all full-time members to sincerely express my deep gratitude to all agencies and businesses that have stood by the Vietnam Blockchain Association for the past year. We look forward to continuing to receive more strategic support and companionship with you in the near future.”
In order to reap these initial achievements, a large part is thanks to the support of the members, communities and partners of the Association – who have worked non-stop and actively participated in the event dialogue between Ministries, Departments and Associations through events to accelerate the process of knowledge dissemination and create a legal framework for blockchain technology in Vietnam.
Therefore, within the framework of the celebration, the Vietnam Blockchain Association also honored individuals and organizations that have made positive contributions to the blockchain application community in the past year, according to Decision 02.2023/QD-CT – BLCVN. In which, the honorary category for Pioneers in Blockchain application in digital transformation was awarded to units in three areas: Banking and Finance (Vietcombank, Techcom Securities, VPBank), Digital Data (MK Group) ) and Health (Genetica), looking at the achievements and tireless efforts that these units have brought in the application and promotion of blockchain over the years.
In the honor category for Media Agencies promoting the Development of Vietnam Blockchain Technology, the Association honored press agencies: Thanh Nien, VNExpress, Investment, Vietnamnet, VietnamNews, An Ninh TV, VTV Money . These are the pioneering agencies in bringing the latest news about the blockchain industry, disseminating knowledge to a large number of readers so that they can better understand this technology.
Four units K300, MetaHub, Coin98, DGG were named in the category of honoring Leaders Leading the Development of Vietnam Blockchain Community. These are all units with a large membership scale, active in order to bring a more positive view to the blockchain community in Vietnam.

Mr. Tran Van Tung – Deputy Minister of Science and Technology said: “The establishment of the Vietnam Blockchain Association in this period is also very timely when directly participating in the process of improving the capacity of public application. technology of Vietnamese enterprises in the context of Industrial Revolution 4.0; as well as the process of national digital transformation to 2025 – orientation to 2030. Although it has only been established for 1 year, the Vietnam Blockchain Association has achieved remarkable achievements and popularized the correct definition of Blockchain when applying applied to economic sectors”.
The Deputy Minister of Science and Technology set out the key tasks that the Vietnam Blockchain Association needs to continue to promote on the foundation built over the past year, including: Participating in promoting and building a database large on Blockchain technology and a force of technology experts; Strengthen support for technology transfer for Vietnamese enterprises to help improve development potential; Strengthen linkages and cooperation with foreign-invested enterprises; Create a suitable, effective and law-compliant operating mechanism for the Blockchain industry in Vietnam.
The 1-year anniversary is not only an occasion to celebrate the establishment of the Association, but also an opportunity to thank all those who have accompanied and supported the Association in the journey of the past 12 months. With the support and dedication of the Government, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Agencies, Departments, international organizations and domestic members, the Association has constantly strived to build a Blockchain community is strong and brings great value to the whole society. The 1-year anniversary is also an opportunity for leaders and large enterprises in the industry to gather together to summarize results, share valuable experiences and lay the foundation for the next development steps of the industry Blockchain industry in Vietnam.
