Vietnam Blockchain Association and Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City collaborate to bring blockchain into education.

In order to train strong and quality blockchain human resources, it must start with the process of popularizing blockchain knowledge through education. Aware of the importance of this mission, the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) shook hands with the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City (HUB) to soon complete the blockchain curriculum.

Blockchain is one of the core technologies in digital transformation. When applied in practice, blockchain brings benefits to many different fields. Finance and banking are the industries that are expected to apply blockchain extensively to the system to serve domestic and international payments and transactions. As a leading training institution in providing human resources for the financial industry, the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City is not outside the blockchain trend of the world.

On the morning of August 23, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation took place at the hall of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City. This is an important program in contributing to promoting the universalization of knowledge about the blockchain technology industry and contributing to perfecting the blockchain curriculum. This is also the first step towards bringing blockchain into teaching, creating courses on this technology, and even opening up majors focusing on blockchain.

The signing ceremony was attended by teachers of the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, and students interested in blockchain technology.  At the ceremony, there was also a discussion about opportunities and the future of Vietnam when applying Blockchain in education and training.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Chung gave the opening speech

Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung – Acting Rector of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City said: “We have 8 digital transformation training programs in which blockchain subjects such as data science, fintech, e-commerce, digital marketing, etc. .” According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, many high-quality students of HUB are currently studying digital transformation programs and participating in blockchain training courses.

“HUB is very active and appreciates blockchain-related research and application testing. I believe this important signing turning point for us to participate in the Association’s ecosystem. The combination of HUB and Vietnam Blockchain Association is essential for people to better understand blockchain, creating a full ecosystem network,” said Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung.

Mr. Phan Duc Trung – Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Blockchain Association said: “The Blockchain Association is a technology association but it will have no value without popularization and education. The need for training human resources is not only students, but we also need a standard curriculum on blockchain that is highly applicable.”

On the side of the Association, Mr. Phan Duc Trung affirmed that there have been activities to prepare the curriculum for inclusion in FUNiX Online University, and is waiting for a degree. He predicts that in the future there will be competition in blockchain education and drafting.

Within the framework of the program is the seminar “Blockchain in Education and Training: Opportunities and Future of Vietnam” with a question-and-answer session with students of Banking School. Although it was still summer, the students who attended the program excitedly asked questions about job opportunities and what major to study to enter the blockchain industry.

For general questions about the field of study and employment, Associate Professor Ph.D. Nguyen Duc Trung encourages students to consider foundation subjects such as data structures, fintech, Python programming, etc… to take an in-depth look at blockchain nature. According to the Permanent Vice President of the Blockchain Association, Applied Mathematics can open up wider job opportunities and students can even actively apply for internships at startups to orient their jobs early.

The signing ceremony and seminar on blockchain in education closed with many meaningful shares from the speakers who brought the students of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City interesting knowledge about blockchain and career opportunities and challenges knowledge for this industry and promises to open up more intimate cooperation activities between Vietnam Blockchain Association and Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City in the future.
