The signing ceremony between Vietnam and Korea Technology Associations took place successfully

This program was part of a series of events to contribute to enriching activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, connecting the overseas Vietnamese community and introducing potentials, prospects, and policies on entrepreneurship, trade promotion and investment (FDI), doing business in Vietnam, further tightening the friendship, connecting good relationships, and exchanging cultures.

Currently, Korea is the leading economic partner of Vietnam as the largest FDI investor into Vietnam with accumulated investment capital by the end of February 2022 reaching more than 75 billion USD. Korea is also Vietnam’s third largest trading partner after China and the United States. In the opposite direction, Vietnam is the focus of Korea’s southward policy in the ASEAN region when the two countries’ trade turnover accounts for more than 40% of the total trade turnover between Korea and ASEAN.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the first 2 months of 2022, bilateral trade turnover continued to grow strongly when the total import-export turnover of Vietnam and South Korea reached 13.8 billion USD, a 19.03% increase compared to the same period in 2021. Vietnam’s export turnover to South Korea reached 3.7 billion USD, increasing by 15.7% and imports from Korea reached 10.1 billion USD, rising by 20.3%.

It’s hoped that this series of networking programs will enhance connectivity and strengthen cooperation relations while promoting economy and trade between the two countries.
